About Us
To the person who stumbles across my tiny part of the world,
Jack. E. Hebden is a brand self titled by the designer, pattern cutter and seamster, Jack Hebden. Graduating from London College of Fashion in July 2021, his intention is to be on a one man mission to create community based opportunities within the sustainable fashion sector for budding creatives and future designers within the proud county of Yorkshire.
Throughout childhood he always found comfort in objects of the past, from his grandfathers furniture to his mothers old records. The appreciation of older products and their manufacture influenced him to create made-to-last garments.
His ideas, experimentation and work is all inspired by his immediate surroundings. He is mostly inspired by the historic photographs by the legendary pioneering photographer and artist Frank Meadow Sutcliffe, who’s work presents a record of life, people and industry of the east coast of Yorkshire during the early 20th century. The flexibility of the brands designs helps to create an alternative to the traditional normative menswear, using colour and fabric to contrast between structure and fluidity.
Jack has always felt a responsibility to his environment, he creates natural dyes exclusively through Flora that can be foraged within a 10 mile radius of his workshop. At the core of Jack. E. Hebden’s ethos is their sustainable vision.
Seeking the highest quality fabrics and materials is of great importance to the brand and by encompassing a considered approach to both the manufacturing process and the longevity of each garment, they will look to reject mass production and entice buying habits whereby pieces last for a lifetime not just a minute.
Placing one foot firmly in innovation while trailing the other through traditional romanticism.
