Handmade Bespoke

Handmade Bespoke

Drawing profound inspiration from the sweeping, unaltered landscapes of the East Riding of Yorkshire, the Handmade Bespoke collection by Jack. E. Hebden honours the enduring spirit of timeless British tailoring. It merges the rugged resilience of rural utility with a refined contemporary design language, offering an uncompromising approach to modern, sustainable luxury. By pairing highly structural, historic workwear silhouettes with the fluid poetry of hand-detailed textiles, the collection balances a raw, agrarian heritage with an elegant, haute couture sensibility. These are heirloom garments designed to capture a deep sense of nostalgia—evoking the brisk, open freedom of the Yorkshire wolds, the quiet solace of hidden lanes, and the sharp, clean kiss of North Sea mist on a winter morning.

Every garment is cut completely to your physical dimensions, with custom configurations for chest size, sleeve length, jacket length, waist, and inseam. The outerwear foundational pieces include the Bespoke Mackintosh and the Bespoke Cropped Mackintosh, both tailored in a choice of tactile 5-wale Corduroy (Cinnamon, Loden, Mushroom) or structural Heavy Drill Cotton (Maroon, Khaki, Dark Brown) sourced from the renowned Brisbane Moss mill. For ultimate weather protection, the Waxed Cotton Bespoke Mackintosh and Waxed Cotton Bespoke Cropped Mackintosh are engineered using StayWax Cotton (Dark Navy, Mustard, Army Green) or Traditional Wax Cotton (Red, Forest Green, Vintage Brown), both expertly produced by The British Millerain Co. Ltd. Exclusivity defines the Limited Edition Bespoke Mackintosh and Limited Edition Bespoke Cropped Mackintosh, which utilize rare regional textiles like a heavy 12.5oz Blue Selvedge Denim—masterfully woven on Blackburn Northrop Shuttle Looms at County Brook Mill in Lancashire—or a historic Brown Pinstripe Seconds Wool sourced directly from Abraham Moon & Sons. Grounding the collection are the trouser silhouettes, featuring the Bespoke Pleated Trousers in Brisbane Moss Corduroy or Heavy Drill Cotton, alongside the structured Limited Edition Bespoke Pleated Trousers in County Brook Mill Denim or Abraham Moon Seconds Wool, both utilizing an engineered inverted front pleat to create tailored volume that echoes the deep ridges of coastal earth.

The interior of each piece offers an intimate, hidden luxury. For a clean, lightweight alternative, garments can be left Unlined. This configuration features pristine, masterfully executed French seams that offer structural durability while maintaining a strict, raw minimalism. Alternatively, garments can be encased in bespoke luxury silk fabrications:
  • The Hand-Dyed Palette: Available in Hand-Dyed Peace Silk or Hand-Dyed Habotai Silk. The individual artisan dye process yields rich organic tones of Greens, Pinks, Purples, Rust/Oranges, and Browns—mirroring the wild berries, heather moors, and ploughed fields of the countryside.
  • The Geometric Botanical Print: Available in Digitally Printed Habotai Silk or Digitally Printed Poly Silk. This signature design features a cream base colour overlayed with Jack. E. Hebden branding and a curated variety of regional flowers and plants arranged in a striking geometric layout.

A core pillar of the Handmade Bespoke collection is our conscious rebellion against the disposable nature of fast fashion. To directly reduce textile waste and minimize our environmental footprint, Jack. E. Hebden intentionally sources Limited Edition Seconds Wool from the legendary local mill, Abraham Moon & Sons. Because these are textile "seconds," minor irregularities, unique weave characteristics, or subtle tonal variations may be present. Rather than flaws, these are celebrated markers of a circular economy that give each coat an irreplaceable character.
Furthermore, our commitment to artisanal, low-impact production means that our Hand-Dyed Peace Silk and Habotai Silk linings are dyed by hand in small, specialized batches. Because we use organic matter extracted from regional berries and plants, slight shifting in pigment, natural color banding, and beautiful tonal gradients are inherent to the process. No two linings will ever be identical. When you invest in this collection, you accept a completely unique piece of wearable art, crafted to be passed down through generations.
